Tools

Tools built by a recruiter, for recruiting

Michael builds his own software for search and outreach. It sharpens the work, and it is also of use to fellow recruiters and sourcers.

What exists

The toolkit behind the searches

Search

Boolean search generator

Turns a role description into search strings that a recruiter can run, review and refine. It saves the repetitive part of building a query so more time goes to reading profiles and deciding who is worth a message.

Analytics

Recruiting analytics dashboards

Dashboards that show what a search is doing: where candidates come from, where they drop off and what is working. They make a search easier to adjust while it is running.

Outreach

Outreach support

Tooling that helps draft and organize outreach. Each message still goes out under a person's judgment and is written for the engineer receiving it.

Built in public

Why the tools are shared

Most recruiting software is built by people who have never run a search. These tools come from the work itself: a repetitive step gets annoying enough that it gets built.

Michael shares the work as it develops, including what is rough. If you are a recruiter or sourcer and want to follow along, compare notes or ask about a tool, get in touch.

The tools are never a substitute for judgment. They shorten the path to the right profiles. A person still reads them and decides.

Next step

Recruiter or sourcer curious about the tools?

Say what you work on and what would save you time. Michael replies personally.
